Yucatan / Explore The Expansion of Space
Ruvan’s book, Yucatan, documents “timeless space” by way of nature photography. Speaking to the relativity of time and its effect on perspective, the framed artworks collage two torn images fixed with the opposite half of the other image. Wanting to immerse his audience in minimalist abstraction, it was adapted into a 360 VR multi-sensory headset experience with a matching fragrance and soundtrack. It was invited to expos such as The World Perfumery Congress (FR), Future Tech Now (UK) and The Scent (UAE) while being featured at events such as the launch for Virgin Hotels North America. A navigable “metaverse” gallery was created for the project, making Yucatan a pioneer of new media.
