Indie Rock in the Early Oughts
In 2003, Ruvan began his career as a music and culture journalist, eventually being hired by musicians to shoot press photos and album art. This placed Ruvan in the middle of a scene that would become referred to as “Indiesleaze” with films like “Meet Me In The Bathroom” and books like “Fashion Photography Next” using Ruvan’s photography to help define this cultural moment.
